What is Neurodivergence? The term “neurodivergent” describes people whose brain differences affect how their brain works. If you’re an adult or family member of someone with neurodivergence, you have found the right place for a one-of-a-kind, individually-tailored, and highly-effective experience with transformative support, and intervention! I provide the Neurodivergent-affirming help that can’t be found anywhere else! You can enjoy conversing from the comfort and safety of your own home, or in Ashley’s quaint home office.
Ashley Simpkins is available both virtually and internationally!
You are not defined by your diagnosis! We are what we think. My goal is to help you discover and use the strength of your abilities. They are there to be discovered! You’re also not alone - an ever increasing number of people are being diagnosed with mental health issues, of which make one nuerodivergent. The great news is that you will receive neurodivergent affirming care, wherein your personal identification of diagnosis is appreciated.
I create treatment plans that are abilities-based and individualized to meet each person’s unique needs. I am skilled at recognizing the signs, symptoms, characteristics, and issues of Neurodivergence. I am also well-versed in providing proper diagnosis and treatment strategies to help adults with mid to high-level functioning neurodivergence, and their families overcome challenges associated with the condition. Which includes what steps to follow.
A key element of process is helping each adult with neurodivergence to recognize and use his or her own unique strengths to set goals that we will reach together and will result in healthy and thriving lives enriched by freedom, happiness, and understanding. We will work together to set a clear plan and build on skills to improve all areas of life affected by Neurodivergence.
My emphasis for clients is to achieve a higher level of understanding that comes with the three A’s of Neurodivergence: Appreciation, Awareness, and Acceptance. I use a wide variety of different intervention models to help achieve these goals with an unwavering emphasis on using Transformative processes that focus on reframing the idea of “deficits” into positive tools that lead to client growth! Our united mission as Specialist and client is for your growth. We are all “wired” differently. With that comes our unique way of thinking and interacting with the world around us. In fact, Neurodivergent is a nonmedical term describing individuals whose brains develop and work differently from the typical person. Neurodivergence may occur with or without medical conditions present. I’ll help you discover how you think, what triggers you, what you enjoy, and the many other things that make you. I love watching individuals with neurodivergence, and their families gain an understanding of who they are, their special qualities, and tapping into their personal power.

The Transformative Process:
Ashley employs the 10 Phases of the Transformative Learning Process: 1) Identifying the challenge 2) Take an honest, close look at who you are and what you do 3) Think about your thoughts. In other words, what are your assumptions and how did they form? 4) See how the process of change can positively affect your issues 5) Open yourself to possibilities for new ways of thinking, interacting with others, and living your life 6) Take those possibilities and create a plan of action to bring them to your reality 7) Do your research and allow me to help you gain the knowledge and skills to make your plan your reality 8) Test out your new plan of action 9) Allow trial and error to build your skills and self-confidence as you put your new plan in action 10) Take what you’ve learned from this experience.

The human mind has always drawn my curiosity. That curiosity led me to pursuing and achieving certification as an autism specialist. I have done (and continue to do) extensive research and worked hard to achieve the goal of being able to help individuals across the spectrum. I believe that foundation, my own journey with neurodivergence, and my ongoing research have all provided the foundation that allows me to be so effective in assisting my clients. I want everyone I can reach to experience the freedom and power that awaits them on the other side of the transformation process. Many individuals with neurodivergence come to me after many failed experiences with neurotypical therapists. I create a safe space of no judgment and connect well to help each individual discover, celebrate, and leverage their strengths which lead to amazing change well beyond their original expectations. I can not describe the immense sense of joy and pride I feel witnessing my clients blossoming into the greatest versions of themselves.
